Video Modules

Video modules can be embedded into computer systems to produce high-quality HD video and still photographs. These are image sensors with an integrated lens, control electronics, and an interface.

Why use video modules?

Video modules reduce contamination such as fixed noise and smearing. They feature a variety of control functions that include white balance and luminance detection, as well as exposure control. Other benefits range from high-quality imagery to high data capability. Video modules are perfect or all video creation, including time-lapse and slow motion. Because they can be very small and demand low power input, video modules can be found in smartphones, tablet PCs, game consoles and TVs.

How to use video modules

A ribbon cable is attached to the module that slots straight into the camera port (CSI) of your computer. Once connected, you can access the camera board. Video modules typically include a lens, an image sensor and supporting circuitry. When used with infrared LEDs, video modules can be used for still photography at night.
