    Colour & Light Sensor ICs

Colour sensors measure exactly the colour of a surface by casting light onto an object and calculating the reflected radiation. There are many challenges to these types of sensors, such as the reflectivity of the surface on which a colour is being measured influencing the measurement itself.

    Colour Sensor Applications

Colour sensors have a wide variety of different applications. They are commonly used in manufacturing processes when colour consistency of products needs to be assured, such as printing, packaging, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical. They can also be utilized in very sophisticated applications, for instance, in various astronomy applications to measure the colour of stars and other astronomical objects, which allows scientists to determine a great deal about the nature of the objects being observed.
