The Siemens cam controller module is designed for integration in the S7-300 automation system. It supports rotary and linear axes. This module also supports initiators and incremental or absolute encoders (SSI) for position feedback. The first 13 cam tracks are output via the digital outputs on the module and this several stations can be operated simultaneously. It also supports combinations with other FM/CP modules. A typical application is the combination of the module with an FM 351 positioning module. FM 352 can be operated in a central and distributed configuration on PROFINET or PROFIBUS-DP. Its monitoring functions include monitoring the operating range using software limit switches, standstill monitoring, encoder monitoring, monitoring for axis movement and target approach. Its typical drives/motors applications include standard motor-relay control, standard motor on frequency inverter and asynchronous motor on power section with vector control.
