Entrelec Interfast Connection Interfaces

Interfast is a cable management system that provides a fast and efficient alternative to conventional PLC wiring. It consists of pre-wired and fully tested cable harnesses that are directly connectable to the PLC systems detailed below. These harnesses plug into terminal blocks and interface units, offering a wide range of measurement, monitoring, and interrupt facilities. Interfast allows the use of HE10 and sub-D connectors, in conjunction with the Entrelec Omniconnect connector range. The Omniconnect connectors stock no. 240-7087 have a 5.08mm pitch, and provide a solution for high voltage and current applications.,Downtime during breakdown or maintenance is greatly reduced by the ability to simply unplug the pre-wired harness, re-configure/replace equipment or the PLC, and reconnect the harness. A typical example that illustrates the benefit of Interfast is to compare the time taken to install some 600 I/O's in the conventional manner - typically some three man weeks plus - to the fault-free installation of Interfast in just one day.,The DIN rail mounting interface terminal blocks are available in 8, 16, and 32 channel versions, with an option of a 16 relay 24Vdc decoupling interface.,The seven discrete types of interfaces are supported by a broad range of pre-wired complementary lead assemblies, which are available separately.,The cable harness assemblies are dedicated to three ranges of PLC's - these are the Allen-Bradley SLC 500, The Allen-Bradley Control Logix, and the Siemens S7-300.,See 'compatibility' table for details of cable to I/O relationship, and which interface terminals - by type number - may be used as part of the connectivity.
