IDEM Kobra Stainless Steel Safety Interlock Switches


The Kobra Hygiecam series from IDEM are tongue operated safety interlock switches that fit to the leading edge of sliding, hinged or lift off machine guards. These safety switches have positively operated switching contacts and a strong tamper resistant key mechanism designed to provide robust position interlock detection for moving guards.

Depending upon the risk assessment for the application, the Kobra Hygiecam can be used independently to provide positively operated contacts to EN60947-5-1 or can be used in combination with any dual channel safety monitoring relays to provide up to Category 4 PLe ISO13849-1 or SIL3 EN62061.

These safety interlock switches have a rugged stainless steel 316 body and have been designed to cope with the rigorous applications of the Food Processing, Pharmaceutical, Packaging and Petro-Chemical industries.

Two versions are available, the K-SS and KM-SS, which offer a choice of contact blocks and various actuators to aid installation and maintain durability.

Note

Not supplied with an actuator. Standard, flat, plastic flexible, heavy duty flexible and hygienic actuators are available separately. The flexible actuators are perfect for tight radius guards. The hygienic actuator is made from stainless steel with a mirror polished finish.
