ABB S800S Series Miniature Circuit Breaker, 16A Current, 400V ac Rated Voltage - 2CCS862001R0164

This miniature circuit breaker is designed to protect low-voltage circuits by interrupting fault currents and preventing overloads. It combines thermal and electromechanical tripping to respond to both persistent overloads and sudden short-circuit events, and is intended for DIN-rail mounted installations in electrical distribution enclosures. The unit provides a Compact protective device for two-pole circuits with a screw-type Terminal and a front reset actuator.

Features and Benefits:

• Type C trip profile for better protection against inrush currents
• 50kA breaking capacity for high fault interruption performance
• 690V DC rated operation to support DC supply applications
• Electromechanical thermal trip reduces risk from overload and short-circuit
• IP20/IP40 protection levels for controlled-environment installation

Applications

• Suitable for two-pole consumer unit protection
• Ideal for industrial control panel circuit segregation
• Used with DC supply systems requiring 690V rating
• Can be used for AC distribution up to 400V
• Appropriate for DIN rail mounted switchgear assemblies

How is the device mounted in distribution equipment?

It is fitted onto a standard DIN rail using its rail-mount mechanism.

What Terminal arrangement does it provide for wiring?

Screw terminals are provided for secure conductor connection.

How many poles does the device interrupt?

It is a two-pole breaker designed to isolate both conductors simultaneously.

What tripping mechanisms are combined in its operation?

It uses a thermal element for overloads and an electromechanical element for fast fault clearing.
