Allen Bradley MCB, 4.5W Power Loss Per Pole, 2 Poles - 1492-SPM2D400

This Allen Bradley MCB from Rockwell Automation cuts power to your industrial machines when it detects an electrical fault. It's a type D breaker with a thermal-magnetic tripping mechanism that's activated when it receives between 10 and 20 times its rated current of 40A. This makes it suitable for use with applications, such as lighting systems, that need a moderate surge at start-up. Support for both AC and DC input voltages means the unit is widely compatible with standard power supplies for versatility. At the front of the housing, there's an indicator window that shows red or green for 'closed' or 'open', so you can read the contact's status at a glance.

• Total pole power loss of 9W for an energy-efficient safety device

• Comes with a front-mounted toggle switch for convenient resetting

• Two protective poles monitor up to two devices at once for efficient circuit coverage

• Mounts onto an industry-standard DIN rail for easy installation into existing control cabinets

Is there a time delay before this MCB breaks my circuit?

No, this breaker trips instantly, so you can trust it to cut your system's power supply as soon as it detects excess current.

Allen Bradley 1492 SP Series Miniature Circuit Breakers – Type D

Safeguard your electrical circuits with the general purpose 1492-SPM Type D Miniature Circuit Breakers by Allen Bradley. These circuit breakers offer high performance and ensure enhanced protection for equipment.

These MCB’s have instantaneous breaking time and feature type D tripping. They are available in 1, 2 and 3 pole versions to suit your application. The 1492-SPM miniature circuit breakers are current limiting and can be easily mounted on a DIN rail. These units are also IP20 finger-safe for greater protection, and they have dual terminals for wiring and bus bar flexibility. These dependable MCB’s help to prevent downtime from nuisance tripping as they also have superior shock and vibration resistance. The 1492-SPM series allows installation of up to six accessories on the same circuit breaker so that you can optimise your safety system with ease.

Type D MCB’s are usually used for specific industrial and commercial applications with very high inductive loads and where high inrush current frequently occurs, for example with x-ray machines, large winding motors, transformers, and welding equipment. A type D MCB will trip instantly at a rate of ten to twenty-five times its rated current.
