This Cherry energy harvesting switch is a snap switch providing data transfer via RF technology, eliminating the need for complex wire assemblies and increasing flexibility for use in previously inaccessible locations. Energy is generated by mechanical actuation of the wireless switch, eliminating the need for batteries. Flexible pairing allows the operation of several wireless switches with one receiver and vice-versa.
A switch Unique ID provides clear identification while operating several switches at once. Up to three telegrams are sent per actuation, with pseudo-random timing to assure robust data transmission. This unit works at a frequency of 868 Mhz and uses a proprietary protocol. A rocker switch version is also available (Stock no 8736671). A compatible receiver is also available (Stock no 8736684).
Small size, with high energy efficiency 868 MHz and 915 MHz frequency bands allow global use within different applications Mechanical Life: Tested for up to 100,000 operations The Cherry energy harvesting switch is compatible with the complete Cherry Switch Energy Harvesting Evaluation Kit (Stock no 7897208).
Note
Energy Harvesting In our connected world, there is strong demand for easy and flexible data transmission, preferably with low energy consumption. Cherry's innovative wireless and battery-less energy harvesting technology is effective in a variety of environments and functions. Energy harvesting can be found in diverse market sectors, including industrial and building automation, smart home and medical. Cherry's technology offers an excellent wireless alternative to wired or battery-powered equipment. Compatible with multiple protocols (product dependant), the products are suitable for global use. As there is no need to change or dispose of batteries, the solution is both environmentally friendly and low maintenance.
