Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440G-MT Solenoid Safety Interlock Switch, Power to Unlock

440G-MT Switches by Allen Bradley Guardmaster are expertly designed to provide a superior level of protection for machine operators and keep your processes running smoothly.

These are heavy duty solenoid safety switches which are perfect for use with machinery which does not immediately stop when power is removed, or which could be damaged by interference while in motion. They ensure that the guard can only open when a signal is applied to their internal solenoid, which releases the locking mechanism.

These switches have a high holding force of up to 1600N (360lbs) and die-cast alloy housing which make them suitable for use in harsh environments, to give you superior reliability. They have an operating temperature range of -25°C to +60°C. Actuator travel for positive opening is 15mm and solenoid power is 13W typical 100% ED. The minimum operating radius is 60mm.

    440G-MT47007

This safety interlock is Break-Before-Make and has a supply voltage rating of 24VAC/DC and 3NC/1NO contacts. Conduit Entry is M20 and it has a thermal current of 10A. It has Power-to-Release functionality. Actuator is not included (see RS stock no.351-3874 typically).

This is a cost-effective safety switch which keeps your machine guard secure and protects personnel by ensuring that the door is locked while the machine is running. When the door is open power is isolated, reducing the risk of personnel accessing a dangerous area where injuries may occur.

    Features and Benefits:

    • Ideally suited to harsh environments such as industrial settings due to robust die-cast painted zinc alloy housing, which ensures greater durability
    • Holding force of 1500N (337 lbs) for optimal stability
    • Environmentally sealed to IP67, which ensures that it is fully protected against ingress of dust and can withstand some immersion in water
    • Visual indication of switch status due to embedded LED

    Note:

This safety device can be used with GuardLink, a new safety linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster. GuardLink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system while providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the safety system, thus reducing downtime and improving the machines overall efficiency. For more details, please refer to the GuardLink brochure.

The Allen Bradley Guardmaster range of machine safety devices offers flexible, affordable solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity in the workplace and provide essential protection for your equipment and personnel.

How do Solenoid Interlock Switches work?

Solenoid interlock switches work by having their internal solenoid energised (Power to Release) or de-energised (Power to Lock) by an external signal. The solenoid is a wire coil which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. These types of safety switches are often used in industrial environments on machine guards to monitor door status and limit unsafe access to hazardous equipment. They ensure that safety barriers remain securely locked while dangerous processes are running. They are useful with machinery that does not instantly stop, such as high inertia rotating machines.
