RS PRO Reduced Head Part Hexagon Body Open End Blind Rivet Nut
RS PRO introduces a fantastic range of reduced head open end blind rivet nuts. Designed to be easily installed and able to secure joints with short clamp lengths, these rivet nuts are engineered to create a mechanical fastening. They are internally threaded and counterbored tubular rivets used to create highly durable threads especially in thin materials. The blind rivet nut can be installed entirely from one side of the material when access is limited to the fixing, unlike machine screws. The reduced head is a specialised version of the countersunk head it is also referred to as thin sheet or small countersunk head. Designed to ensure you do not have countersink prepare the hole before installation providing a near flush finish when non-interference is not necessary, the hexagonal design of the body is ideal in applications where high resistance thread and anti-rotation is required.
Made from A2 stainless steel to ensure a high corrosion resistance to elongate the life of your rivet nuts whilst keeping it lightweight and strong. These steel rivet nuts have a wide grip range with strong durability.
Used predominantly in modular buildings, portable wash facilities and plastic pallet and storage solutions.

Features and Benefits
- Made from A2 stainless steel for solid rivets, strong corrosion resistance and structural strength
- Easy and clean installation
- Can be used where only one side of the application is accessible
- Increased grip range 1 mm – 4 mm
- Creates a permanent and high tensile structural rivet joint with little effort
- Body diameter 12.9 mm
Applications
Rivet nuts are installed in a similar fashion to blind rivets, driven through pre-drilled holes from one side of a material. The advantage of using rivet nuts is that they do not require hot welding, so they can be installed in metal, plastic, fiberglass, and other materials without a problem. They are used to permanently join two steel, aluminium or copper plates usually in mechanical applications where it is imperative that joints do not become loose and cause failure. They are especially suited for environments where a flush fit is required and non-interference fit is not necessary with the hexagonal body design suits applications that require high resistance thread and anti-rotation. Most common, everyday rivet applications include:
Street furniture
Signs
HVAC
Electronics
White goods
Seating and vehicle chassis
Bumper systems
Manufacture of heavy goods
Aviation, aerospace, and automotive
