SICK C2C Series Light Curtain, 1200mm Protective Height, 30mm Resolution - C2C-SB12030A10000

This light curtain is a safety sender designed to protect personnel around machinery by creating an infrared protective field. It operates on 24V DC supply and is intended for hygienic environments, featuring an IP69K-rated enclosure for rigorous wash-down conditions. The device provides optical synchronisation to a compatible receiver and includes a 15m flying-lead connection for system integration.

Features and Benefits:

• 12.5m scanning distance provides extended perimeter protection
• 30mm beam resolution detects medium-sized intrusions
• Type 2 safety classification enables PL c performance level
• IP69K housing allows high-pressure hygienic cleaning
• 15m flying-lead Terminal simplifies long-range wiring

Applications

• Suitable for machine guarding in food processing
• Used with safety relays for restart interlock configurations
• Ideal for packaging machinery access protection
• Can be used for conveyor line perimeter detection
• Used for installations requiring optical synchronisation

What electrical connection does it use?

It connects via a 5-wire flying-lead cable, 15m long, with brown +24V, blue 0V, white reserved for OSSD1, black reserved for OSSD2 and grey unused.

How does the device behave on fault detection?

In a fault, at least one OSSD is forced off and the unit moves to a safe state

cross-circuits or OSSD short-circuits lead to lock-out.

What optical characteristics define its detection?

It uses near-infrared light at 850nm Wavelength with optical synchronisation to the matched receiver.

What environmental tolerances does it support?

It operates between -30°C and +55°C, withstands 15g shock, and tolerates 5 to 150Hz vibration at 3.5mm/1g.
