It provides the mechanical Interface for user input, snapping securely onto the underlying switch body via a snap-fit mounting feature. This cap is frequently used in control panels, keypads, and consumer electronics where a clearly coloured, distinct button is required. It is designed to be compatible with lead-free wave soldering processes.
