This RS PRO M6 steel threaded insert is a type of fastener you can use to create a secure hold in soft materials such as plasterboards as well as plastic, steel and aluminium sheets. Inserts like this one allow you to create a metal thread in the soft assembly material to ensure a strong connection.

This insert is made of mild steel with zinc plating for added resistance to corrosion and rust. The product is self-adjusting, which means the insert will adapt to the thickness of the material you place it in. It's supplied with a friction wrench to help you install it using ordinary screws.

It also features standard, 6 mm M6 threads, ensuring you can use it with screws with standard threads. The insert complies with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) standards, so you can rest assured it contains only minimal amounts of any harmful materials.
