StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 7m Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMLCSC-OS2-7M

This Fibre optic cable is a 7m duplex singlemode patch lead designed for high-speed network interconnects. It provides singlemode transmission for long-reach links and is supplied with LC and SC UPC terminations. The jacket is low-smoke zero-halogen and the cord is suitable for installations where reduced toxic emissions are required. The cable is rated for extended Wavelength laser sources and is tested for insertion loss with an included report.

Features and Benefits:

• 100Gbps capability for high-throughput connections
• 0.3dB insertion loss for minimal signal attenuation
• 55dB return loss for improved signal integrity
• 1260 to 1625nm Wavelength support for CWDM flexibility
• Bend radius 10mm loaded for tight-routing tolerance

Applications

• Suitable for server-to-switch connections in data centres
• Ideal for high-density rack interlinks in storage arrays
• Used with 100Gigabit Ethernet and fibre-channel systems
• Can be used in legacy OS1 networks for compatibility
• Suitable for enclosed spaces requiring low toxic emissions

What temperature range can it operate within?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C for normal operation.

How is polarity identified on the cable?

Connectors are numbered to indicate polarity for correct pairing.

What construction limits light loss during tight bends?

A bend-insensitive core with a low refractive index layer reflects escaped light back into the fibre.

Which standards describe its Fibre performance?

It meets ITU-T G.652.D/G.657.A1 and IEC 60793-2-50 type B1.3/B6.A1 specifications.

What is included in the package aside from the cable?

A test report is provided confirming individual insertion loss results.
