StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 15m Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMLCSC-OS2-15M

This Fibre optic cable provides single-mode connectivity for high-speed network links in data centres and telecommunications environments. Designed for 100 Gbps transmission and laser-optimised across an extended Wavelength band, it connects LC to SC (UPC) terminations and is enclosed in a low-smoke, zero-halogen jacket suitable for installations where reduced toxic emission is important.

Features and Benefits:

• 1260 to 1625 nm extended Wavelength support for CWDM channel separation
• Insertion loss 0.3 dB for low signal attenuation and precise alignment
• Return loss 55 dB resulting in improved signal integrity for receivers
• Bend radius 10 mm loaded for tight routing in confined pathways
• LSZH jacket reduces smoke and toxic gases during combustion

Applications

• Suitable for high-speed links between servers and switches
• Used with 100 Gigabit Ethernet and fibre-channel systems
• Ideal for dense data centre patching and rack-to-rack runs
• Can be used in enclosed transport environments such as trains
• Used for upgrades where backwards compatibility with OS1 is required

What Fibre construction supports tight bending and reduced loss?

The core uses a bend-insensitive design with a low-refractive-index layer to return stray light into the core.

How is connector performance ensured prior to deployment?

Each cable is individually tested for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.

What temperature range can the cable operate within?

It operates between -20 °C and 60 °C.

Which standards does the cable meet for optical classification?

The Fibre conforms to ITU‑T G.652.D/G.657.A1 and IEC 60793‑2‑50 type B1.3/B6.a1.
