Fluke ScopeMeter III Series Oscilloscope, 500MHz Bandwidth, 4 Channels - FLUKE-MDA-550-III
This oscilloscope is a portable diagnostic instrument designed for motor-drive and industrial electrical troubleshooting. It combines oscilloscope, waveform analyser and data-logger functions in a handheld unit to capture voltage, current, DC bus and PWM signals across drive input, output and motor connections. The instrument operates from mains or its rechargeable battery and is intended for field use where guided test set-ups and automated measurements speed fault finding.
Features & Benefits
• 500MHz bandwidth for high-frequency signal capture and analysis
• Four-channel input enabling simultaneous multi-point measurements
• Guided measurement routines reduce set-up time and error
• Extensive harmonic ranges up to 150kHz for distortion identification
• Built-in report generator to save and export test screens
• Battery and mains operation for flexible on-site testing
• Four-channel input enabling simultaneous multi-point measurements
• Guided measurement routines reduce set-up time and error
• Extensive harmonic ranges up to 150kHz for distortion identification
• Built-in report generator to save and export test screens
• Battery and mains operation for flexible on-site testing
Applications
• Suitable for commissioning and fault diagnosis of inverter drives
• Ideal for assessing DC bus ripple under dynamic load
• Used for detecting motor shaft voltage discharge events
• Can be used to verify V/Hz ratios and voltage modulation effects
• Used with current clamps to analyse input and output current harmonics

What measurement ranges support high-frequency spectrum analysis?
The instrument provides harmonic analysis from the fundamental up to the 51st harmonic and spectrum bands covering 1–9kHz, 9–150kHz and higher-frequency voltage modulation measurements up to 500MHz.
How are voltage and current connections assisted during tests?
On-screen, step-by-step graphical diagrams guide probe placement for drive input, DC bus, drive output and motor input locations to ensure correct voltage and current signal acquisition.
What safety and input voltage limits apply during field use?
The tool supports maximum voltages to earth up to 1000V and is specified for use with high-voltage probes and clamps to maintain safe measurement across common industrial systems.
How is recorded data transferred for further analysis?
Report screens and recordings can be saved to USB storage or transferred via mini-USB or Wi‑Fi and opened using supplied PC software for detailed review.
