Fluke BNC Test Lead, 150V Voltage, 140mm Lead Length - 5189

This BNC test lead converts BNC connections to Micrograbber-style test clips for cable and connector breakout during diagnostic and measurement tasks. It is designed for handheld and controlled-voltage environments, providing corrosion-resistant contacts and a robust moulded assembly that resists ingress and strain.

Features and Benefits:

• Gold-plated centre contact reduces contact resistance
• Beryllium copper grabber hook increases mechanical strength
• Glass-filled nylon insulation resists wear and contamination
• Nickel-plated brass body provides Durable external protection
• Rated for hands-free use up to 150 VRMS
• Operates to a maximum ambient temperature of 55°C

Applications

• Suitable for signal breakout from BNC-equipped test equipment
• Used with oscilloscopes and benchtop analysers for probing
• Ideal for converting BNC leads to grabber clips during repairs
• Used for continuity and functional checks in controlled environments
• Suitable for field testing where quick connector conversion is required

What contact materials are used for the conductive elements?

The centre contact and grabber contact are gold-plated brass and beryllium copper respectively to provide low-resistance contact and corrosion protection.

How is the cable assembly constructed to withstand strain and contamination?

The BNC connector and grabber cap are moulded directly to the conductor, improving pull strength and offering dust and moisture resistance.

What insulation and wire construction does it use?

The lead employs glass-filled nylon for insulation on the grabber components and a 20 AWG PVC-insulated conductor with multi-strand construction for flexibility.

What voltages are appropriate for handheld and unattended use?

It is suitable for handheld testing at 30 VAC / 60 VDC max and for hands-free use in controlled-voltage settings up to 150 VRMS.

What temperature limits apply during operation?

The assembly is rated for a maximum operating temperature of +55°C.
