Fluke Energy Monitor & Logger, 500V Maximum Measurement, 16bit Resolution - FLUKE 1736/B

This energy monitor & logger is a portable three‑phase instrument that captures voltage, current, power and harmonics for power quality and energy studies. It operates from the measured circuit or its Li‑ion battery and connects via WiFi, Bluetooth or USB to local or remote software for real‑time viewing and data transfer. The unit supports full waveform capture, event snapshots for dips, swells and inrush currents, and meets Class S power quality measurement requirements for industrial environments.

Features & Benefits

• 16‑bit synchronous sampling provides high‑resolution data capture
• Measures up to 500V and records 50th harmonic aiding harmonic diagnosis
• IEC 61000‑4‑30 Class S logger ensures standardised PQ metrics
• Battery‑powered Li‑ion enables up to 4 h runtime for remote logging
• WiFi and Bluetooth allow remote viewing and download during studies
• Internal flash stores long‑term sessions with event waveform snapshots

**Applications**

• Suitable for industrial energy monitoring and load studies for NEC220
• Used for harmonic analysis to support IEEE 519 compliance checks
• Ideal for onsite power quality analysis and fault root‑cause hunting
• Can be used with handheld modules to log auxiliary measurements remotely
• Suitable for assessing energy consumption before and after retrofit work

What measurement parameters are recorded for harmonics and distortion?

The instrument logs voltage and current harmonics individually from 2nd to 50th, total harmonic distortion for voltage and current, and TDD for detailed distortion analysis.

How does remote data access work during an Active study?

Data can be downloaded to a USB flash drive or streamed via WiFi to desktop or mobile software while logging continues, enabling concurrent review and ongoing collection.

Which circuit types and connection modes are supported?

It supports single‑phase, split‑phase, 3‑phase Delta and wye configurations including 2‑element Delta and open‑leg Delta, with four inputs for three phases Plus neutral.

What protections and environmental limits apply to field use?

Measurement category rating allows service‑entrance use, operating temperature is −10 °C to +50 °C, and the enclosure meets IP50 for typical industrial sites.

How is current measured for varied conductor sizes and ranges?

Thin flexible Rogowski probes and clamps are auto‑detected

available probe ranges cover from milliamps up to several kiloamps with automatic scaling for accuracy.
