StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 15m Cable Length, OS2 Fibre - SPSMLCSC-OS2-15M

This Fibre optic cable provides single-mode simplex connections for high-speed networks. It is designed for point-to-point links and single-Fibre devices, offering low attenuation over extended wavelengths and compatibility with legacy single-mode installations. The jacket is low-smoke zero-halogen and the cable operates across a wide temperature range for varied indoor and constrained-ventilation environments.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3 dB insertion loss for minimal signal degradation
• 55 dB return loss to reduce back-reflection issues
• 1260 to 1625 nm Wavelength range for CWDM channel support
• Bend radius 10 mm enabling tight installation routing
• LSZH jacket limiting toxic emissions during combustion

Applications

• Suitable for 40G and 100G Ethernet links
• Used with LC and SC transceivers and SFPs
• Ideal for simplex Fibre NIC-to-switch connections
• Can be used in enclosed transport environments
• Used for single-Fibre CWDM transmission setups

What temperature conditions can it withstand during operation?

It is rated to operate between -20°C and 60°C.

Which Fibre classification and core size does it use?

It uses OS2 single-mode Fibre with a 9/125 μm core/cladding specification.

How is connector performance ensured and reported?

Each cable is individually tested for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.

What construction resists tight bends and microbends?

A bend-insensitive core surrounded by a low-refractive-index layer enhances light retention and micro-bend resistance.

Which standards does the cable meet for optical performance?

It meets ITU‑T G.652.D and G.657.A1 and IEC 60703-2-50 Type B1.3/B6.a1 compliance.
