Festo Series MS Filter Regulator, 40μm filtration size, 0.50 to 12 bar Pressure regulation range - MS4-LFR-1/8-D7-E-R-M-MPA, Numeric Part Number: 8232858

This filter regulator provides pressure control and particulate separation for compressed-Air systems. It maintains a stable output pressure while removing condensate and particles down to the specified pore size. Designed for vertical mounting within a Compact pneumatic installation, it is suitable for compressed Air and inert gas applications meeting the stated Air purity standards.

Features and Benefits:

• 900 L/min flow rate delivering high throughput for pneumatic loops
• 0.5 to 12 bar regulation range enabling precise pressure adjustment
• 14 bar maximum operating pressure supporting robust system demand
• 40 μm filtration reducing particulate ingress to protect downstream devices
• Manual condensate drain allowing controlled maintenance and servicing

Applications

• Suitable for machine tool pneumatic supply lines
• Ideal for sensor and actuator protection in automation
• Used with inert gas distribution in production cells
• Can be used for preparatory treatment before valves
• Suitable for compressed-air service in food-related systems

What materials contact the medium inside the unit?

The sub-base and housing are die-cast aluminium, the bowl is Makrolon®, membranes and Seals are NBR, and internal plates use POM.

How is condensate removed and what is bowl capacity?

Condensate is expelled via a manual rotating drain and the bowl holds up to 19 ml.

Which pressure readout and connection standards apply?

It accommodates an analogue pressure gauge and uses G1/8 pneumatic ports with a 1/8 in gauge-port thread.

What environmental and media temperature ranges are suitable?

Operating and media temperatures span -10 °C to 60 °C, with storage at the same limits.

What filtration performance and separation efficiency can be expected?

The unit uses a <40 μm pore filter with condensate separation greater than 75% and delivers Air purity to ISO 8573-1:2010 classes as specified.
