Festo Series MS Filter Regulator, 0.30 to 7 bar Pressure Regulation Range, 40μm Filtration Size - MS4-LFR-1/4-D6-E-R-M-MPA, Numeric Part Number: 8232848

This filter regulator conditions compressed Air by removing condensate and stabilising downstream pressure for pneumatic systems. It is intended for vertical mounting and suited to compressed Air and inert gas media compliant with ISO 8573-1:2010 purity classes. The unit combines a pressure regulator with a Visual pressure gauge and a transparent polycarbonate bowl for condensate monitoring, operating across a typical industrial ambient and media temperature range.

Features and Benefits:

• 1700 L/min nominal flow rate for high-volume supply
• 0.3 to 7 bar adjustable output to match downstream requirements
• 14 bar maximum operating pressure for robust system tolerance
• 40 μm filtration achieving greater than 75% condensate separation efficiency
• Manual rotating drain with 19 ml condensate capacity for controlled removal

Applications

• Suitable for general compressed Air supply lines
• Ideal for pneumatic actuator and valve protection
• Used with instrumentation requiring regulated Air pressure
• Can be used for inert gas pressure stabilisation
• Suitable for food-industry Air preparation with supplementary information

What port connections are provided for system integration?

Ports use G1/4 thread for inlet and outlet and a 1/4 in G-threaded gauge port.

Which materials contact the media and what are their properties?

The bowl is polycarbonate, Seals are NBR, and internal plates use POM to withstand typical pneumatic media.

How should the regulator be oriented during installation?

Mount vertically within a ±5° tolerance to ensure correct condensate collection and function.

What environmental temperature range will maintain safe operation?

It operates within a storage and operating temperature range from -10°C to 60°C.

How does the control element indicate pressure adjustment?

A rotary knob with detent provides tactile position locking and an analogue pressure gauge displays output pressure.
