The MIKROE APDS-9250 device uses 4 individual channels of green, red, blue, and IR in a particular designed matrix arrangement. It permits the device to have optimal angular response and a high RGB spectral response with high accuracy over various light sources. This board is supported by a mikroSDK compliant library which has functions that simplify software development.
