StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 1m Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMDOS2LCLC1M

This Fibre optic cable is a 1m single mode OS2 duplex patch lead designed for high-speed network links in data centre and server environments. It uses LC-to-LC UPC terminations and a 9/125μm bend-insensitive core optimised for laser wavelengths from 1260nm to 1625nm, providing low attenuation over extended distances while operating across a wide temperature range.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3dB insertion loss for low signal attenuation
• 55dB return loss to reduce back-reflection impact
• LSZH jacket for low toxic emissions in enclosed spaces
• Bend radius 10mm enabling tight routing without signal loss
• 9/125μm core for single mode high-capacity transmission

Applications

• Suitable for 100Gbps Ethernet interconnects in racks
• Ideal for CWDM Wavelength multiplexed links
• Used with switches and servers for low-latency connections
• Can be used in mixed OS1/OS2 legacy environments
• Suitable for installations aboard trains and aircraft cabins

What temperature range can it operate within?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C for both operation and storage.

How is polarity and connector identification handled?

Connectors are numbered and colour-coded to indicate polarity for straightforward installation.

What safety advantage does the outer jacket provide?

The low smoke zero halogen jacket minimises smoke and toxic fumes if exposed to fire.

Which standards does the Fibre exceed for performance?

The cable meets ITU-T G.652.D and G.657.A1 parameters and IEC 60703-2-50 type classifications.

What testing accompanies each unit?

Each cable is individually tested for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.
