StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 2 Cores, 30m Cable Length - SMDOS2SCSC30M

This Fibre optic cable provides singlemode duplex connectivity for high-speed networks and data-centre links. It uses OS2 Fibre with SC/SC UPC connectors and a yellow low-smoke zero-halogen jacket to support 40G/100G transmission and extended Wavelength operation. The assembly is suitable for installations requiring reduced smoke and toxic emissions and operates across a wide ambient temperature range.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3 dB insertion loss for minimal signal attenuation
• 1260 to 1625 nm Wavelength support for CWDM compatibility
• 55 dB return loss improving back-reflection performance
• Bend-insensitive core enabling tight-radius routing
• LSZH jacket reducing toxic fumes in enclosed spaces

Applications

• Suitable for server-to-switch high-speed interconnects
• Ideal for 40G/100G fibre-channel links in data centres
• Used with laser-optimised transmitters across 1260 to 1625 nm
• Can be used in transport environments with restricted ventilation
• Suitable for legacy OS1 networks requiring backward compatibility

What environmental temperature range can it tolerate?

It operates between -20 °C and 60 °C.

How is polarity indicated on the cable?

Connectors are number‑labelled to identify polarity.

What testing is supplied with each cable?

Each assembly is individually measured for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.

What construction reduces light leakage at bends?

The core is surrounded by a low‑refractive‑index layer to reflect escaped light back into the fibre.

Which standards does the Fibre meet?

It conforms to ITU‑T G.652.D / G.657.A1 and IEC 60703‑2‑50 type B1.3 / B6.a1.
