StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 3M Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMDOS2SCSC3M

This Fibre optic cable provides single-mode duplex connectivity for high-capacity network links. It is designed for long-reach data transmission between servers, switches and storage, supporting laser-optimised wavelengths across an extended range. The cable uses SC/SC UPC terminations and a flame-retardant low-smoke zero-halogen jacket for installations where reduced toxic emissions are required.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3 dB insertion loss ensures minimal signal attenuation
• 55 dB return loss improves reflected-signal suppression
• 1260 to 1625 nm Wavelength support enables CWDM operation
• Bend-insensitive core permits tight-radius routing
• LSZH jacket limits toxic fumes in confined spaces

Applications

• Suitable for 40G and 100G Ethernet interconnects
• Ideal for data centre server-to-switch links
• Used with storage arrays requiring low-latency paths
• Can be used in enclosed transport environments
• Suitable for legacy OS1 environments requiring upgrade

What temperature range can it operate within?

It operates between -20°C and 60°C.

How is polarity identified on the cable?

Connectors are number‑labelled to indicate polarity.

What testing is provided with each cable?

Each cable is individually measured for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.

What standards does the Fibre meet?

The Fibre complies with ITU‑T G.652.D/G.657.A1 and IEC 60703-2-50 type B1.3/B6.A1.
