StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 50m Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMDOS2LCLC50M

This Fibre optic cable provides singlemode duplex connectivity for high-capacity network links in enclosed environments. It is designed for long-reach applications using 9/125μm OS2 Fibre and LC/LC UPC connectors, with a flame-retardant low smoke zero halogen jacket suitable for installations where reduced toxic emissions are required. The assembly supports extended Wavelength operation for Wavelength division multiplexing and is intended for interconnects between networking equipment in data centres and similar installations.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3dB insertion loss enables low signal attenuation
• 55dB return loss improves reflections management
• 1260 to 1625nm Wavelength range supports CWDM operation
• Bend-insensitive core allows tight routing with 10mm radius
• LSZH jacket reduces harmful fumes in enclosed spaces

Applications

• Suitable for 100 Gigabit Ethernet backbone links
• Used with server-to-switch interconnects in data centres
• Ideal for CWDM optical channelisation systems
• Can be used in enclosed transport environments
• Suitable for migrations from OS1 to OS2 infrastructure

What environmental temperatures can it operate within?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C for both operation and storage.

How is polarity and connector identification handled?

Connectors are numbered and colour-coded to indicate polarity for straightforward mating.

What test documentation is provided with each cable?

Each assembly is individually measured for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.

Which standards does the Fibre meet for compatibility and performance?

The Fibre conforms to ITU‑T G.652.D and G.657.A1 and IEC 60793‑2‑50 type B1.3/B6.a1.
