StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 3M Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMLCSC-OS2-3M

This Fibre optic cable provides singlemode duplex connectivity for high-speed networking and data-centre links. It is designed for long-reach 100Gbps environments and supports extended-wavelength laser sources. The cable’s LSZH jacket reduces smoke and toxic gas emissions during combustion, making it suitable for enclosed or poorly ventilated locations.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3dB insertion loss for low signal attenuation
• 55dB return loss improving reflected-signal suppression
• 9/125μm core for singlemode long-distance performance
• Bend-insensitive design enabling tight routing without degradation
• LSZH jacket reducing hazardous fumes in confined spaces

Applications

• Suitable for connecting servers to switches in data centres
• Ideal for 100 Gigabit Ethernet backbone interconnects
• Used for CWDM links across the 1260 to 1625 nm Wavelength range
• Can be used in telecom environments requiring G.652.D compatibility
• Used with legacy OS1 links for phased infrastructure upgrades

What temperature range can it operate within?

It operates between -20°C and 60°C for both operation and storage.

How is polarity and alignment ensured at each end?

Connectors feature precision ceramic ferrules and numbered connectors to indicate polarity.

What safety classification applies to the jacket material?

The outer sheath is Low Smoke Zero Halogen, meeting LSZH fire‑rating requirements.

Which standards does it conform to for Fibre performance?

The cable meets ITU‑T G.652.D/G.657.A1 and IEC 60793‑2‑50 type B1.3/B6.a1 specifications.

What is included in the package at delivery?

The box contains one 3M duplex LC to SC Fibre cable and an individual test report.
