StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 15m Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMDOS2LCLC15M

This Fibre optic cable is a 15m single‑mode jumper designed for high‑speed telecom and data centre links. It connects via LC to LC (UPC) duplex terminations and supports long‑distance transmission with laser‑optimised OS2 Fibre. The jacket is low smoke zero halogen, permitting installation in enclosed or poorly ventilated environments while meeting relevant industry classifications.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3 dB insertion loss for minimal signal attenuation
• 55 dB return loss to reduce back‑reflection impacts
• 9/125 μm core/cladding for single‑mode transmission
• Bend‑insensitive design for tight‑radius routing
• LSZH jacket for low toxic emissions in fires

Applications

• Suitable for 100 Gigabit Ethernet connections
• Ideal for links between servers and switches
• Used for CWDM Wavelength multiplexing systems
• Can be used in data centre patch panels
• Suitable for telecom backbone single‑mode runs

What standards does the cable comply with?

It meets ITU‑T G.652.D and G.657.A1 classifications Plus IEC 60703‑2‑50 type B1.3/B6.a1.

What temperature range can it operate within?

It is rated for operation between -20 °C and 60 °C.

How is durability achieved in the Fibre construction?

An aramid‑reinforced layer surrounds the bend‑insensitive core to improve micro‑bend resistance.

What test evidence is provided with each cable?

Each unit is individually tested for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.
