StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 25m Cable Length, Single Mode Fibre - SMDOS2LCLC25M

This Fibre optic cable is a 25m single‑mode jumper designed for high‑capacity network links. It provides duplex LC‑to‑LC UPC connectivity for long‑reach transmissions and supports laser‑optimised operation across an extended Wavelength band. The jacket is low‑smoke, zero‑halogen and coloured yellow to aid identification in dense installations. The assembly is suitable for data‑centre interconnects and other environments requiring low attenuation and tight‑bend performance.

Features and Benefits:

• 1260 to 1625 nm Wavelength support improves channel separation
• 0.3 dB maximum insertion loss reduces signal degradation
• 9/125 μm core supports 100 Gbps network throughput
• 10 mm loaded bend radius enables tight‑routing capability
• LSZH jacket minimises toxic emissions during combustion

Applications

• Suitable for connecting servers to top‑of‑rack switches
• Ideal for 100 Gigabit Ethernet backbone links
• Used for CWDM channel deployment across extended bands
• Can be used in enclosed spaces with ventilation limits
• Used for legacy OS1‑to‑OS2 network migrations

What temperature range can it operate within?

It functions across an operating range from -20 °C to 60 °C.

How is connector performance ensured?

Ceramic ferrules with UPC polish and individual insertion‑loss testing validate connector alignment and loss below 0.3 dB.

Which standards does the cable meet?

It complies with ITU‑T G.652.D and G.657.A1 Plus IEC 60703‑2‑50 type B1.3/B6.a1 classifications.

What mechanical protection is present around the fibre?

The Fibre core is bend‑insensitive and surrounded by aramid reinforcement under the LSZH jacket to improve micro‑bend resistance.
