StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 3M Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SPSMLCLC-OS2-3M

This Fibre optic cable provides a single-core simplex connection for high-speed singlemode networks. It is designed for point-to-point links and single-Fibre devices, using LC/UPC terminations and an OS2 Fibre core to support extended-wavelength transmission. The cable is insulated with a low smoke zero halogen jacket to reduce harmful emissions in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces, and it is suitable for use across a wide ambient temperature range.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3dB maximum insertion loss improves signal throughput
• 55dB return loss reduces reflected power at connectors
• 1260 to 1625nm Wavelength range supports CWDM channeling
• Bend-insensitive core enables tight-radius routing
• LSZH jacket emits low toxic fumes when heated

Applications

• Suitable for 40G and 100G Ethernet links
• Used with SFP transceivers and single-fibre NICs
• Ideal for simplex patch panels in dense racks
• Can be used in enclosed transport environments
• Used for backward-compatible OS1 network upgrades

What temperature range can it operate within?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C for both operation and storage.

How is connector alignment achieved to ensure low loss?

Ceramic ferrules are used to maintain precise alignment and keep insertion loss below 0.3dB.

What safety advantage does the jacket provide in enclosed spaces?

The LSZH jacket limits smoke and halogen emissions during combustion, reducing toxic exposure in poorly ventilated areas.

Which standards does the Fibre meet for long-distance singlemode performance?

The Fibre complies with ITU-T G.652.D and G.657.A1 specifications as well as IEC 60703-2-50 Type B1.3/B6.a1.
