StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 40m Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMDOS2LCLC40M

This Fibre optic cable provides single‑mode connectivity for high‑speed network links in data centres and telecom environments. It uses OS2 single‑mode Fibre with LC to LC (UPC) duplex terminations and supports extended Wavelength operation for CWDM systems. The outer sheath is a low smoke zero halogen jacket suitable for installations where reduced toxic emissions are required. The cable is supplied with an individual test report confirming insertion loss performance.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3 dB insertion loss for minimal signal attenuation and clear links
• 1260 to 1625 nm Wavelength support for CWDM channel flexibility
• 55 dB return loss to reduce reflections and improve signal integrity
• Bend radius 10 mm loaded for tight routing in confined spaces
• LSZH jacket reduces toxic emissions for enclosed environments

Applications

• Suitable for 100 Gbps Ethernet connections in core switches
• Ideal for inter‑rack links between servers and storage
• Used with CWDM systems across extended wavelengths
• Can be used in enclosed areas such as trains and aircraft

What temperature range can the cable operate within?

It operates between -20 °C and 60 °C.

How is connector alignment achieved to maintain low loss?

Ceramic ferrules and UPC polishing ensure precise alignment for low insertion loss.

Does the cable tolerate tight bending during installation?

The Fibre is bend‑insensitive with a 10 mm loaded bend radius for high micro‑bend resistance.

What testing accompanies each cable?

Each cable is individually tested and supplied with a test report showing insertion loss and performance.
