StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 7m Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMDOS2LCLC7M

This Fibre optic cable is a 7m, single‑mode OS2 duplex patch lead designed for high‑bandwidth connections in data centre and server room environments. It pairs LC to LC (UPC) terminations and supports laser‑optimised wavelengths across an extended 1260 to 1625 nm range, enabling long‑reach transmission and CWDM compatibility while using a low‑smoke zero‑halogen outer jacket for use in enclosed spaces.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3 dB insertion loss for minimal signal attenuation
• 55 dB return loss for improved signal integrity
• 9/125 μm Fibre core for single‑mode, long‑distance links
• Bend‑insensitive design for tight‑radius routing
• LSZH jacket reduces toxic emissions in confined spaces

Applications

• Suitable for 100 Gbps Ethernet links between switches
• Ideal for inter‑rack server connectivity in data centres
• Used with CWDM systems across 1260 to 1625 nm wavelengths
• Can be used for fibre‑channel storage area network links
• Suitable for installations in enclosed transport environments

What temperature range can it operate within?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C.

How is physical connector alignment assured?

Ceramic ferrules provide precise alignment to achieve low insertion loss.

What safety characteristic does the jacket provide in confined spaces?

The low‑smoke zero‑halogen jacket emits reduced smoke and toxic fumes when exposed to fire.

Is the Fibre compatible with legacy single‑mode networks?

The OS2 Fibre is backward compatible with OS1 deployments.

What testing accompanies each cable?

Each cable is individually tested for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.
