Personal safety
Personal safety is a crucial part of health and safety requirements.
Whether you work in a Food and Beverage manufacturing environment or an Automotive factory operation, selecting the right PPE gear to ensure operatives are protected adequately to keep them safe and adhere to regulations is a must. Machine safety
Machinery and other equipment can present significant hazards to personnel when in operation. While physical guarding is the first line of protection, there is often a need for operators to interact with the machinery when running and this is where machine safety systems help prevent injury. RS has a market leading range of machine safety products from safety relays and controllers to interlocking guard switches and light curtains, so whether you are a maintenance engineer or a machine builder we have the safety components you know & trust.
Electrical safety
To protect against the hazards of electricity, there are a number of measures that should be taken.
Ensuring the supply circuits are to specification, including earthing, insulation and continuity needs to be a focus, as well as ensuring protective devices are operating correctly.
Before any maintenance work is carried out on circuits, it is critical to ensure these are dead and locked off to prevent re-energisation. The testers used for this should be proved OK against a known "live" reference point to avoid a false safe reading.
Portable electrical applicances also need inspecting and testing to ensure that they remain safe during their working life.
Site safety
All industrial and commercial sites must put in place procedures and measures to keep their workforce safety. Potential site safety risks can arise from maintenance or refurbishment work creating various hazards to fire safety and first aid - both areas which require appropriate precautions are put in place by law.In the following pages you will see highlights from our extensive site safety offer which includes a comprehensive range of signage, barriers, spill kits, first aid and fire safety products - all available from stock for next day delivery.Just another way we can take the work out of keeping your workplace safe.
